13.7 Cures
There are three main ways of curing afflictions within Aetolia. Most are reactionary to cure an affliction once it is received, while others are temporarily preventative. AFFLICT LIST, AFFLICT <affliction> SHOW Gives more information about the affliction as well as the messages of infliction and curing. DEFENCE LIST, DEFENCE <defence> Gives more information about a defence, as well as the messages of obtaining it and when it fades. Curative Mercantile Skills -------------------------- Apothecary: HELP APOTHECARY Creates elixirs and poultices. Collects ingredients from animals, requiring a scalpel (forged). Herbalism: HELP HERBALISM Creates pills. Harvests plants, requiring a sickle (forged). Pills ----- Most afflictions are cured by swallowing pills. There are a large variety of pills you will need on hand, however you can easily store them all within your cache. Pipes ----- Certain herbs in pipes will cure some of the more lethal afflictions. This will require you to possess the herb, a pipe, and method of lighting the pipe such as a tinderbox. Elixirs ------- Elixirs are a liquid kept in vials that will heal your health or restore mana. They simply need to be sipped or quaffed when needed. Poultices --------- Poultices are a paste of sorts applied to specific body parts generally to cure damage limbs or trauma. They are kept upon bandages to keep the poultice potent.
