Poetry News Post #1255

untitled.

Perhaps if I let these lips turn to smile
I can remember the joys that have fled
To leave me in this darkened state
Awaiting and remembering
Revelling in this encompassing misery
Praying that perhaps with such horror
An only more beautiful sunrise may lie beyond the onyx night
Please let this blackened coal
Be pressured and destroyed into something more
Try and try and try
But spirit why won't you let me go
Why can't I see through the ink in my eyes?
Touched numbing sensations with each grasp
With each embrace from kind strangers
Whom I thought I knew
Who remember knowing me.
Maybe the stranger trying to see the light is me
Each person by my side never a reflection
Just an abyss of myself to consume each memory and dream
All that is left of me nestled in their minds.

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Arios, in the year 149 MA.
