Spring

A sapling, shaking off the last of winter's snow
its feet covered in shades of brown.
Around, towering shapes awake
oblivious to the new life below.
A child has been reborn
and the cycle begins anew

The young tree, warmed by the sun
stands on a blanket of green.
Dressed in the leaves of summer
the tree is alive and free.
The child is growing
and the cycle turns.

A tree, standing tall and proud
heavy with a lifetime of experiences.
Among the leaves, an acorn falls
and brings hope of a new beginning.
The child is old
and the cycle moves on

A tree, withered with age, stands in slumber
while the world is preparing anew
Oblivious to the new life below
Her spirit reborn again.
I am dying, and reborn
and the cycle continues.

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Arios, in the year 149 MA.
