20.5.4 Esterport, the City of Trade
The city of Esterport was founded on the 19th of Midsummer, year 452 MA, upon the Isle of Delos. As framed in their constitution (HELP LAWS ESTERPORT), the city's stated purpose is free trade, and they maintain a neutral stance in the ongoing conflicts that ravage the continent. Primary inhabitants of the city include refugees from the War of Night and their descendants, as well as a substantial population of Arqeshi who constructed much of Esterport. The flag of Esterport is divided into two sections: a purple triangle on the hoist side covering one-third of the flag's width, within the center of which sits a crowned golden coin. Within the coin itself is the silhouette of a ship, symbolizing maritime trade and the city's identity as a bustling port. The purple triangle itself symbolises the elevation of merchants to a status traditionally reserved for royalty. The remaining two-thirds of the flag is a field of white with four wavy blue horizontal stripes, representing the flow of the Zaphar River into the eastern ocean that marks the basis of Esterport's commercial power.
