An Indelible Refrain

Fabricators of Qor Qogol,

On the bones of the great wyrms did the first ones
build their citadel. They named it Azvosh Rakar,
a seat of power at the very heart of
the Domozvai Wastes.

We have never built upon the bones of Hlugna, but
I assure you, we will make do.

We called you to the Conclave of War, and you
needed yanked like dogs on a leash up out of
the dark.

We called upon you to sharpen, and you broke.

We called upon you to dance the dance of sword
and spear, and you buckled 'neath the weight of
shield.

We called you to kneel, and you were knelt.

Our Father spake that the earth is a vast and
hungry beast, pitiless and cold.

Remember us when it trembles beneath your feet,
for so too did the Mhojave when your bronzework
and your brethren fell.

You will know us next by the sound of wardrums
beyond counting.

Paxe Visara
Architect of Blood and Bone

Penned by my hand on Closday, the 14th of Omeian, in the year 4 AC.
