The Strength? of Earth

Dear friend Kurak,

I found your post inspiring, and yet, flawed in a very particular way. Allow me to expound upon that.

You proceed under the assumption that things have not changed wildly in our absence. Where once "may we never know peace" was a battlecry spoken with resounding vigour over the bodies of the defeated, it is now a mewling refrain quashed under the boot of bureaucrats.

The children of Ivoln can not be blamed for their inability to espouse the values we knew, for they are merely aping the evolving values of their Patron. No longer is the Earth of war unending, brutality made manifest, and savage triumph. They follow in the wake of a god who has turned to those softest of values, mercy, forgiveness, and acceptance.

This was made very clear to me when the Earthen Lord turned on those who had supported Him when He was named traitor, choosing instead to accept many of those who had called Him such back into His fold, while condemning and casting away his loyalists. I should know. I was mistakenly one of those supporters.

The Apocalyptia is nothing more than empty words, friend Kurak, and it pains me to recall the passion you had for them. Nobody will carry on that particular torch. Instead, allow me to offer any who follow Ivoln a place to start when expounding on this newfound path you and your god have chosen.

From the Book of Mercy, Chapter 1, verse 1, "We shall spare our wayward children the rod, and instead accept them with open arms and gifts aplenty, for our way is taught not with strength of arm, but with strength of heart."
