But lo, another path was opened! A new trail has been blazed, the fog around it rent asunder by will of Blood! Sanguine is the second path to Divinity. Dark is the second path to the Gods. The Sanguine path is the more difficult of the two, achieved by only one, and yet it is walkable, for a mortal has seized Divinity.

Abhorash, once Primus, eternal Progenitor, now Hegemonist, devoured the very essence of a God and seized Its power for Himself. Being a creature of Varian, this is permissible in the eyes of Heaven, and the yoke of Sanguine Ascension is passed now to those immortal mortals, the Consanguine.

This Gift is one of many given by the Dark Mother, for in Her infinite wisdom, she bestowed a freedom from fate upon those mortals with the will to seize it. Immortal Blood, an existence apart from mere mortality, can walk with one foot in either path, seeking both the ascension of Lobyl and the ascension of Abhorash. A perfected existence!

The Sanguine Path is impossible, and those who walk it are lunatics, stricken with a madness beyond any before. And yet, to sink one's fangs into the veins of Divinity and drink deep, one cannot be of sound mind. Those with naught but lesser purpose will view such grand dreams as delusions, but the madman sees himself sane.

Watch. Wait. Grow. Feed. And when a vein opens, slake your thirst. Failure means blissful eradication. Success means Godhood.

Seize fate in your own two hands, and devour it whole.
