Since I have received word that you wish a public apology, I have chosen
to follow the Vanguard's command - to apologize - upon this board. This
shall be an uncommonly long detail of events, as light is shed.

It is true that I made an uninformed judgment. When I was first told
that the Paladin squire, Cissi, was being raped in the Silverdrop, I
made my way there to rid her of her abuser. I was surprised to find a
luminary criminal, and therefore carefully questioned each witness, as
well as the victim, before reaching verdict.

Cissi told me your advance was unwanted, and that she tried to make you
stop for the sake of her lover, Kraegan. Illidan told me you threatened
violence when he said you did wrong, and that you carried out your
threats by attempting homicide. He begged my permission to slay you. I
refused it, as you were a citizen. The syssin who spied upon you gave me
a full account of the situation, but, an artificer was not to be
trusted. It was the victim's words that, in the end, urged my hand.

I struck you with binding venoms and brought you to the city's jail,
wherein I locked you to receive visitors. Many were scheduled to come
speak with you and bring you to see your crime in the correct light. You
refused to believe you had done wrong, and clouded the city's telepathic
channel with your spite. As I guarded your cell while you communicated
with your victim, you strove to escape your bindings through the aid of
your angel.

The potential of further abuse loomed, as your victim was present in the
cell and you struggled free. I applied more venoms to keep you locked,
but your weak form was unable to endure the touch of my steel. You
perished.

From the cell, I carried your body to the Tear of Lleis and bathed you
therein. You returned to life with more spite; your furied outburst at
Cissi indicated that you blamed her for your crime. I could tell she was
deeply hurt by her once friend's betrayal, and though I spoke a few
words to assuage her grief, she gave me only silence.

I saw a need to protect Enorian, and Cissi, from your rampant sexual
tendencies. Thus I cast you out and branded you an enemy, for your lack
of understanding, lack of apology, lack of common kindness, and for your
abundance of abusive behavior.

Here I am told that I went too far. Your Guildmistress declared you an
ally once more, and had you citizened at the earliest opportunity. I was
not contacted. Neither were any witnesses, nor the Minister of Security
with whom I had discussed your sentence. The sole deciding factor in the
reversal of my decision was the victim, Cissi.

She sought to protect you from prosecution, stating that it was her
fault for fostering an inability to refuse your administrations
vehemently enough. She would not press charges. She was unhappy with the
judgment, and how the sentence was carried it out. She asked for its
reversal.

When I heard word of this, I truly believed that the crime had still
occurred. I felt that Cissi attempted only to guard your virtue as her
friend, regardless of the cost upon her person. I was convinced that it
was an abusive relationship, and spoke to the Vanguard concerning your
renewed citizenship status.

Here, I will clarify my aim. Regardless of what you think considering my
brutish thuggery, it is light's best interests I work for. An
unrepentant criminal walking Enorian's streets gives me true concern. I
care not for any hate your person may bear, your reluctant feelings
concerning apology, or your reasons for instigating undesirable sexual
assault. I care for the safety of the innocents who seek sanctuary
within the Beacon's walls.

This is why I sought audience with the Vanguard. He told me that an
apology was in order, and to give it any way you wished.

Further communication with an investigator yielded bitter results. Cissi
lied to me in order to preserve her relationship with Kraegan, as she
feared her lover would hear that their planned threesome was preceded
with her unfaithfulness. This is why she asked me to allow her testimony
to remain anonymous, and why I am now disregarding that request. In
truth, Valencia, you did not rape Cissi. You were acting hastily, but I
doubt now that your attention was unwanted.

There are many nuances in this situation that cause me regret and shame.
I am sorry that my position gives me not the privilege of striking you
each down in turn, but I am not sorry that I would die to protect such a
moronic innocence.
