Poetry News Post #805

Storm of Suppression

Written by: Belle Morte, Ariel Milenko
Date: Monday, March 8th, 2004
Addressed to: Slyphe, Lady of the Storms

Losing myself among the waves

As the storm gathers around me

My dark soul finding solace

In the calm oblivion

That lies just beneath the surface

I stand, naked

The storm pounding in my veins

But I will not sacrifice myself

To the fury

Overtaken by the waves

I slowly descend into

Darkness

Still its roar echoes in my ears

As it continues to beat against my flesh

Soaked in sorrow

I struggle

_Bound_

By change

Refusing to let go of

My beliefs

Feel free to de-esteem me for my audacity to direct my poetry at Slyphe,
but it was written with Her in mind. Hopefully some of you will see the
truth and the meaning behind this poem. Whether you fight with words or
in battle, you fight for what you believe in. I believe in Ashtan.
-Ariel Milenko

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Midsummer, in the year 123 MA.
