Poetry News Post #611

the broken chain

Written by: Misty

In life your chain is held together with fine strips of steel
memories bind them together no matter how you feel
some strips are made of chaos
and other made of love
but every strip is important.

In life your chain is predetermined in some old worldly way
to have some broken strips tore off and be replaced some day.
there are times when ones heart is deeply loved
and times when it shows a crack
but only some truely lucky people get their loves to come back.

Now I sit here and ponder of my invisible chain with kinks
I think of how I had tasted love and the heartbreak that it brings.
I think for now to take a rest
and let my heart be free
and wonder where my next steel strip will fall right next to me.

(With love to you know who)

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Lanosian, in the year 112 MA.
