Loneliness

Loneliness-
Like a carnival when all shut down.
former delight, joy, happiness and mirth
silent, deadened, gloomy, without sound.
these buildings, this body, empty, without worth
although steadfast, ongoing, through storm and rain,
I never expected this emptiness to cause so much pain.

the rides, the booths, sit waiting to return,
hours, minutes, and days pass by.
eager to heal, but knowing time itself treats all burns.
hot, acrid sun, cracking the earth dry...
but in one spot remains wet and moist
watered by tears, for lack of your voice.

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Lleian, in the year 110 MA.
