The Vacancy

Addressed to: Everyone
To all those who touched and changed my life, and I theirs. For better
or for worse. This is for you.
I never thought that I could be
Someone better
Can someone tell me who I am
Teach me to live without this vacancy
Can someone tell me.
Are you still there to believe in?
Or have you gone
Chasing all the things you never were
Have you left me here
In this, my walls, my end, my sea,
knowing faith is dead?
We are gone
We are the vacancy
I pace these rooms
Cold now, where you used to be
And watch you fade through quiet dreams
This burning silence brings no peace
We are the vacancy
The people we always knew
We could never be
And all the scars we'd never heal.
Your places now are empty
Destroyed long before you or me
And you're not around to care
where the wind takes you anymore
Did I leave you something real?
I want to be free
And burn our bridges as they fall
But all you needed
Was something I couldn't see.
I live in a vacancy
And are you still here to believe
Or have you gone somewhere beyond
Chasing things you'd never lost
Something you could never be
And is the silence just too much to bear
Have you left me here
In this, my walls, my end, my sea,
My vacancy.
We are the gone
We are the vacancy
I pace these rooms
Cold now where you used to be
And watch as you fade through quiet dreams
This shattered silence brings no peace
The people that we always knew
We could never be
And all the scars we'd never heal
Have become an end for me.
A vacancy.
Penned by my hand on the 1st of Severin, in the year 108 MA.
