memory of a requiem

i've visited you in my dreams

sitting, feet in cool water,
waiting where i said you could find me -
anywhere dawn rose splashing blue sky
with a vibrant palette

you are absent in my dreams

i weep, tears filling this ocean, and
singing softly, the notes weave a requiem -
dawn dulled without hand or word of yours
to still my wavering heart

where burns fire without fuel? here,
there are only cold coals, waiting
patiently until your dream and mine intersect -
resolving these chaotic chords

i've visited you in my dreams -
you were absent

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Lanosian, in the year 258 MA.
