I can recall the child I once was
When I met you my heart beheld a glory-worthy cause.
And all along; I've loved you through my youth.
Because of you, I care for life, and almost seek the truth.
Our followers! Those charming laughing dears.
Have been OURS throughout these hateful years
And but if only you could see him now,
What a man he'll make, when the gods only allow.

I can recall- You purged me of the pain.
When storms around us fought and maturity took the reigns
Why would we have a care in the world?
We had eachother, mace, a son and two sweet little girls.
We gnashed our teeth and fought for the cause of time.
Deny it now, because we know the loss was not benign
And lets forgive everyoe but us, too.
Since NOTHING could be easier then blaming this on you.

I can recall the anger in your face.
Those sparkling things threw fury all across that lightened place.
You screamed like no woman ever screamed.
'How dare life' you were saying,'Be so fucking cruel to me!'
I hid then, hid again when you were well.
What do you say to the woman who's heart you couldn't sell?
What can you do but hide yourself away?
I buried my hope inside the city walls that day.

I can recall the love you shared with me.
I remember the dreams we had of what had ought to be.
My fire burns for you, it always will.
Though we hid it, you and I, in a crevice in a cavern on that city on
the hill.
