All fall down

What if there were two of us?
Breathing the same air
Here inside the Temple of Pillars
My friend turns his back
Brings a tear to my wounded eyes
Strangers me, strangers him

What if there were two of us?
Finding the same story
Here atop the mountain
I can see the false City
This place escapes me now
Once I knew, I might have known

What if there were two of us?
Who had noplace left to go
Here at the fallen columns
I see the Priestess' courtege
Her mourners scattered to the four winds
All are dead, all are gone

What if there were two of us?
We cannot proceed together
Here at the islands
I see houses of cards and trembling hands
Ring a-ring-a-roses
All fall down, all fall down

You go your way, I'll go mine.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Chakros, in the year 168 MA.
