A love of old

Over all the years,
And through the days,
Nothing compares,
To how you fair.

Lonely days and lonely nights,
Opportunities arise,
And yet I face,
Another shut door.

I walk to you,
In all weather,
To look upon,
Your open door.

Each time filled with joy,
And heartache aside,
To know that you chose her,
Never hearing my cries.

What was once then,
Is no longer,
A new woman before you,
A new heart in place.

Though old feelings revive,
And thrive on your words,
Nothing is greater,
Than the love survived.

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Severin, in the year 157 MA.
