Rain

The rain falls from the sky,
Like tears they drench the world.

The dark, the night it falls,
As clouds fill our thoughts and minds.

The lonely one, who stands away,
As the rain shrouds him in his own darkness.

The sleeper, who has no remorse,
Awakens in his mind, and laughs gaily.

His laugh is not a good-natured deed,
For he gains strength from sadness and sorrow.

The rain, so thick, it fogs his vision,
And what of his goal, his end of agony.

Where is his shining light, his beacon of hope,
It has hidden from the rain, and away from thee.

On a day so bright, his world is dark and pale,
For the rain has drowned him, and it is near impossible to move on.

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Khepary, in the year 148 MA.
