My goodbye

Tear down the walls
the bed will be cold tonight.
Fear for them all
this house is no longer mine.

Built on love,
Tended by trust.
The passionate kiss,
all traded for myth

Crimson blood will flow
as the life in me fades away.
Leaving noone to know
But these last words I say.

For all of my life, I've had but one dream.
To find the soul that made my life complete.
I have failed at this through numerous mistakes.
And now that it's lost, I've no reason to stay.

I come to say I'm sorry.
sorry to have loved you so much
sorry to have given so much
sorry to have hurt so much

I am sorry for ever having trusted you.
I'm sorry for everytime we kissed
I'm sorry for every embrace
I'm sorry for every word we said

I'm sorry for "I love you"
I'm sorry for false promises
I'm sorry for you being afraid to love
I'm sorry you'd prefer a life without it.

But most of all, more than anything else
I'm sorry for the little home that would be ours
that never will be, never can be
and for those children we had talked about that will never be either.

This is my goodbye to you, my final farewell.
The story of our life played out
The end is coming near.
And as I go, I go without fear.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Ios, in the year 146 MA.
