I thought I would try to cheer some people up

However, as I look around seems I will not do a greater job
Why are we all depressed around here?
Only sometimes, are we allowed a poem of great cheer?
Well, we can write what we want, you say
Surely, you would like to cheer some other people's day?
Well, off with the questions, and off with the rhyme
I think I will be finished here for quite a while.
