When you SALT <thing> that thing will, for a short period, be worth a great deal more nourishment than normal! This stacks with the satiation skill.
Also, there are a few hidden emotes that use it. My favorite is SALT <person>. I'm going to use it next time I nerf a class.

Note that artifacts bought through auction cannot be traded in. This excludes whatever you get from the cryptic chests, of course!
