Admission of Guilt

Addressed to: Tanixalthas, the Sun Drinker
To the First Dragon Tanixalthas, known also as Sun-Drinker, She Who Hungers, the Star of Midwinter, and Sky Dreaming,
Her Ghost extends its formal apology for the Holy War that concluded on the 10th of Celes, in the year 4 AC, and for its transgressions against the Dragon in deliberately trespassing upon Her hoard while Her Kin were unable to defend it. Lacking the Might to further Lady Chakrasul's victory on its own and unwilling to settle the debt of past conflicts against the Star of Midwinter's own champions, it instead unwisely chose to commit a sleight against the great dignity of the First Dragon.
Failure has no excuses. Mistakes must be acknowledged and corrected.
For the embarrassment brought to Lady Chakrasul by the past mortal flaws of Her Ghost and by the current consequences of its mistakes, it subserviently submits to Her judgment.
In recognition of the mistake it made in insulting She Who Hungers and for its failure to lead the Chosen to a worthy war that would have upheld the full glory of draconic wrath, Her Ghost submits to the Dragon's Law.
To evolve beyond the narrow confines of its ignorance, Her Ghost cleaves to the Law of Growth and heeds the First Dragon's timeless wisdom. In accordance with the Law of Manners, it recognizes the wrongs it committed without excuse or protest, and recognizes the gap between the power of the Divine and the mortals who are fit only to be ruled by Them. In deference to the Law of Treasure, it returns that which was not won and offers the requested tribute to the Dragon's hoard. For the greatest benefit of all, it upholds the Law of Promise to the letter.
In its act of penance towards She Who Hungers and to correct its errors, Her Ghost willingly turns to the wisdom of Pride Incarnate rather than the enlightenment of Corrupted Might and yields to the cunning and might of the Dragon's Storm. For its unacceptable incompetence in leading the Chosen and failing to provide a proper blood war in honour of the Divine, Her Ghost assumes sole responsibility for the actions of the Chosen involved and denounces the false victory of a war that should not have declared.
Ever Downwards.
Penned by my hand on Gosday, the 16th of Ivolnos, in the year 7 AC.
