SWEEPing away the TRASH

Addressed to: Everyone
To all Sapients,
We formally announce today the formation of a new defensive alliance: the Strategic Wedge against Excessive Encroachment Pact, henceforth known as SWEEP.
The Holy Empire of Sehal, the Undercity of Djeir, and the Ophidian Empire have united in this endeavor to ensure the mutual security and prosperity of our sovereign nations. In an age where larger city-states often wield disproportionate influence, SWEEP stands as the bulwark against unwarranted aggression and a beacon of cooperation among the many smaller independent realms.
The key principles of SWEEP that all member states must adhere to include:
1. Defensive Focus
SWEEP is, first and foremost, a defensive pact. We seek not to provoke conflict but to deter it through our united front.
2. Mutual Defense
Should any member of SWEEP come under attack from a city-state*, all members are bound by honor and treaty to provide immediate assistance.
3. Diplomatic Freedom
Members of SWEEP retain the liberty to forge alliances with city-states and other entities. However, such alliances must not involve commitments to offensive warfare or in any way compromise the integrity of SWEEP.
4. Open Doors
Other settlements may petition to join SWEEP. Admission requires a unanimous vote from current members, ensuring that our alliance grows thoughtfully and with purpose.
*SWEEP currently defines city-states as the Empire of Bloodloch, the Council of Duiran, the city of Enorian and Theocracy of Spinesreach.
SWEEP represents not just a defensive alliance, but a commitment to elevate all of our peoples. To those who value sovereignty and mutual respect among nations, we extend our hand in friendship. To those who might contemplate aggression against our members, we present a united and resolute front.
On behalf of Emperor Pa'akth, the Ophidian Empire, and all members of SWEEP:
I am,
Empress Agra.
