Reflection

In silence, I have reflected and come to a simple conviction. Wasted opportunity is squandered potential. We have all made decisions that would have doomed, however unintended, in our place. Why deign to reach for the stars if you quibble about the consequences of what it could cost?
Long did true Immortality elude the grasp of the Progenitor's hand, until opportunity presented itself, fallen Malevolence's essence interred in Her sarcophagus, shorn free of Her Shadowbound vessel. A lesser being learns from these moments of opportunity and employs strategy to create the same moment where ascension is within reach; therefore, how could I fault the act of imitation when I venerate its original Enactor?
It is a fact that the gaze of Fundamental Chaos was drawn to us through the ritual. It is also a fact that Its attention will inevitably turn to us in search of the realms that elude Its influence. Whether or not we were ready for It or not, this process was simply accelerated.
In a world where we live at the mercy of Forces larger than ourselves, the least we could do for ourselves is to cower less in fear of what could end us and thrive as masters of our own fate, like the Dreikathi, in a landscape we carve out for ourselves.
I am,
