Enemies: Foreign and Domestic

I rose from my slumber in the sands of the Grotto with much to read, assess, and contemplate the benefit of. I rose from my slumber ... and was agitated, listening to the manner with which one foreign Fundamental is rightfully cast down, while another foreign Fundamental is unrightfully praised.

Enemies, foreign and domestic, remain enemies even if their aid is beneficial.

Warmasters understand this. Alliances are made against common enemies for the benefit of the now, and of the future, even when the ideals of the allies do not overlap. Even when the allied organizations still sneer upon the teachings of each other. This occurs when the enemy threat is large enough to require it.

Ohlsana was a vast, mighty danger. At the time, it was vital that Sapience stood against her, together. This was impossible, as she was capable of controlling the minds of those who existed upon it, barring a handful.

So what did Sapience do? Allied with Ohlsana's enemy, the Merciless Light. This is her name: Merciless Light. Excess spirit burns foes and burns friends, and the foreign Fundamental known as Dejaani is likely to scorch the earth that Father crafted for us in His nascency.

At the time, this alliance was vital to the survival of Sapience.

That time has since passed. Ohlsana is no longer here, and in her place is her enemy: as dangerous, as vast, as powerful. Likely to scorch us, as much as you.

I will not speak for Duiran, as I do not like trees, and I do not care for their Cycle and their desire for the vitality of Life. But they are what stands against this new danger, and the Empire will not see what we have yet to conquer be lost to the crackling excess of Spirit of Rew'vha.

It does not belong here on the Prime Material Plane. It imbalances that which already exists, and an eternal Dawn is as deadly as an eternal Night.

Penned by my hand on Falsday, the 17th of Chakros, in the year 510 MA.
