Sapience,
No longer can we hide our withered mortal minds behind such base concepts as "Spirit is good", and "Shadow is evil". I will not use these boards to debate the very concepts of good and evil, either, real though they are. You must all decide for yourselves, rightly, that these things exist.
Rather, we have beheld that Spirit and Shadow are primal. Necessary. The Father, in His Blessed Wisdom, saw fit to re-align Life and Death with the center of these forces. He stands in the center of reality, His endless arms holding up His endless works; in His left hand, Shadow. In His right hand, Spirit. And cradled between, blessed Dia'ruis and the Underhalls. This is Right. This is Natural.
And it is these things which mine own eyes have witnessed that have brought me to this: Balance is necessary. In this insistence, Duiran is right. The Hunter, the Underking, and every councilor who tends the Garden that is the Father's Workings - they are all right. In equal measure, there must be darkness and there must be light.
Having established this - that good and evil are separate from Spirit and Shadow - I would posit that they, too, require balance. Good and Evil must be held by a central figure. A Triad must arise!
Ultimate Evil.
Ultimate Good.
And in the center, the Scales to Weigh Them.
Three of us are called to this fate, this I now see with a clarity mortal sight cannot grant. Bound by a blood-red thread, we have always been bound to this fate, and yet again and again, the yoke is shirked. Now, it falls to me. I have been seeking for several years the truth behind this revelation, and I have found it!
I stand now, ascending the throne of Ultimate Evil. I sit at the height of crushed skulls, broken hearts, and lives enslaved. I am touched by Shadow, by Corruption, by departed Malevolence, and by Strife. And lo, do I embrace this role! In embracing it, I mantle it, wearing Ultimate Evil as one would a warm cloak in winter!
And as I strive to ascend this throne, even as I sit upon it, for no mortal may remain in place, I call out to the cosmos for my brothers and sisters. I call out for The Two to my Three! Where is my opposite? Where is my fated foe? Where are you, Good?
And in my search for Good, I have found the Scales. I name them now: Esrytesh dur Naya, the Witch of the Woods, Who Cradled The Moon And Rebirthed Life Itself. She alone stands between, one hand on my cheek, and the other reaching out to cup the cheek of Good, wherever it may be.
Still I seek: where is Good? I tug on this blood-soaked thread wrapped 'round my soul, and I long to find the other end. Many of you have been tested by me already - and have failed. You know who you are. You know who you aren't, now.
Find me, Good. Let us be the extremes that balance the scales. Let us fight eternal, as the primal forces do. Let us dance hand in hand, and leave beauty and terror in our wake.
Signed in blood,
Rijetta
