Your Assumptions

Ser Mastema, King of Imps,

Since the General has more important issues in front of her, she's asked me to respond to you.

The structure of your argument is based entirely on weak assumptions. You assume that we failed, you assume that we were ashamed, and you assume that we celebrated the Primus' 'absorption' of Ati. Our memories must be different, because I distinctly remember the Syssin present calling attention to the new threat of the Taint living inside the Primus, which resulted in Trikal giving Ezalor a dirt nap. You also assume that we have changed our stance on the whole issue, which tells me that you had no idea of our stance to begin with.

Allow me to educate you and the populace of the continent on a few things that many already know to be true.

We did not fail in our duty to protect Spinesreach. As a matter of fact, the contrary is true. We succeeded in staving off the Shadowbound from not only Spinesreach, but from Bloodloch, Duiran, and Enorian as well. Without our special talents targeted to destroy the Shadowbound, casualties would have certainly been far greater than they were. We were also the vital instrument in the final assault on their portal, using these very same abilities to banish legions of our Tainted enemies. All alliances and enemies are put to the side to combat the largest threat to our world, and the Syssin Defenders have proven this through our actions. Our stance on the threat has never changed, and our current declarations and actions have only reinforced our convictions in this matter. The Taint still lives on, and the Shadow Mother will look for another opening. The fight is not over, and now the Taint is inside the Primus.

As for your accusations that we are being 'taken for a ride,' the idea that the Syssin are being used to take over our own city that we've sworn to defend makes absolutely no sense. Your post only succeeds in showing me that you have no idea what you're talking about, but, since you ask us to consider things in your post, I'll ask for your consideration in turn. You say, "If you want to learn who rules over you, who pulls your strings simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize and who it is who screams loudest when questioned." I'm not sure whether you're throwing a tantrum and showing us all who we can't criticize, or you're implying that the Syssin are pulling everyone's strings. Either way, thanks for proving my point and displaying your paranoia, 'Your Majesty.' Do yourself a favor and stop giving bad advice.

In service to Spinesreach and the world at large,

Lieutenant Fezzix, Warden of Spinesreach

Penned by my hand on Quensday, the 23rd of Khepary, in the year 454 MA.
