What is wrong with you?
How could you so easily fall under the artifice of another without
questioning it? Just look at the divide you have generated in the City
you were created to defend.
Consider this defenders and consider it well. Ati is gone, he essence
reshaped and purged from our land. Try to think back, like really think
back. Do you remember Lord Severn being injured by this creature and
forced to retreat in agony. Do you remember the crops that fed the
livestock withering outside the gates of the City you swore to defend?
The farmers being forced to kill their starving livestock. The burning
lamps and the pungent fumes of the fires you all built by hand to ward
away the shadows. Of course you do. How you could not it was your duty
to protect the City after all and yet you failed? There is no shame in
that. Not when you consider a god could not stop it either.
Instead it required another greater darkness to emerge ending your
suffering and shame for you. You were redeemed and the City given the
chance to replant crops and once more feed the people. By the pit many
of you celebrated the fall of Ati. I was there when you rose you glasses
and I was there when you watched the sunlight race across the towers and
heat the cold northern air.
So what has changed Syssin? Do you even know or have you all been so
easily taken for a ride by the whims of a few dullards. The same people
who even now utilize your very own tactics against you to make pawns of
you in a game that aims to take over the city.
Consider this.
If you want to learn who rules over you, who pulls your strings simply
find out who you are not allowed to criticize and who it is who screams
loudest when questioned.
