Severn is right.

I traveled to Albedos today and spoke with the Sensechal. He told me
they have faced the sludge, but never found a cure for it and fled from
its effects, and that the Dreikathi slew their gods and They have not
been seen in hundreds of years.

Investigating further, I sought an audience with the Eld, but the guards
forced me away, refusing me an audience. They stated that the Eld will
speak only when He is ready and not at the request of any of us.

On a side note, I spoke to the Seneschal about the possibility of
evacuating to Albedos should the sludge overrun us, offering our
military support and guard support, plus the offer to swear fealty to
him while we lived there.

I was flat out told no, and that while they allow us travel now, the
moment we try a mass evacuation to their continent they will seal the
portal and forever deny us access.

If the answer lies in the pool of the Eld, then it will be difficult
finding it. I am, instead, thinking this:

The Ankyreans considered themselves above all else, superior beings.
They considered those of us who were mere humans, rajamala, et cetera as
lesser beings. Perhaps the 'their' they refer to is our Pantheon. This
confuses me given Lord Haern's infection, but perhaps something with the
Dendara altered his essence to make Him more susceptible? I'm not a
scholar, and have never proclaimed to be one, but these are my thoughts.
