Consequence

Sister Muse,
I have taken the time to think on the matter and I must confess that I
cannot fathom what could have possessed You to think it wise to aid that
pitiful zealot in defacing My Temple. Did You not expect retribution?
Did You think Me so merciful as to ignore the insult You so rudely
flaunt? Perhaps You simply lack the foresight to consider the
consequences your actions have begotten.
Thankfully, I am a teacher of lessons and Your lesson in consequence
begins now. In the place where Your Priestess once stood, now is a
memento for You to remember her by. She is alive, for now at least. Rest
assured however that it is agony, every moment she remains in My
company. I would be loathe be a bad host to any of My guests, but since
You have already deemed Me a 'torturer', it seemed a fine opportunity to
turn Your lie into a truth.
With Your sincerest apologies and an amount of gold no smaller than half
of a million pieces, You shall have Your Priestess, the lesson will be
concluded, and I shall sincerely hope that You will have learned it
well.
