Addressed to: Everyone
I have been a Luminary all of my stay upon the mainland of Sapience. In
this time, I have seen much. I have done much. Yet, I have learned so
much more. I come from Ulangi, I come as a Horkval of the upper Castes.
If I was to live for an extended period of time, I was trained and
tutored by my kin in the running of the land, of cultivating, hunting,
foraging, scavenging, and the forming of tunnels of rock.
I wanted to be a Warrior, a Soldier, and a Champion of this land so that
I may have shown what it is to be Horkvali: to be strong, to be wise,
and to be powerful. I have many downfalls; do not take me for a Messiah.
I am one of you, flesh and blood though my flesh is not like yours. I
wanted to be something powerful, and so I choose the Luminaries as they
were the Harbingers of Dawn. They stood against the waves of the undead,
with little more than their spark, their mace, and their angel. However,
when I first came to this land I was still young in the ways of your
people, the ways of the mainland.
I had no idea that there was such a thing as a Spark or even the extent
of what a God is for they have never been seen upon my homeland.
However, when I first heard Lord Arions voice, when He first gave me His
blessing, I knew that we were something great. I could feel it, both in
my heart, and in the soul of my angel crying out to me. That we are not
just Luminaries, we are Followers, we are Servants, and we are Separate
from each other. Each of us chooses upon which our own God to follow,
and each of us must decide this on our own. We must decide which God it
is that we follow, because it is something more than just being in Their
Congregation or Order. It is a blessing, and a gift from Them, to be
able to bear their names into combat and fight with a fervor like none
else exists.
We are Luminaries, do not get us mixed up with the like of the Priests,
but we are Servants to our Gods. Those who follow Lord Arion take the
name Templar, and so have I. For we are the Templar, and it is us who
carries the Word and the Way of Truth. Each of you know that we are not
perfect by far, but we aim to bring the Truth in all of its forms.
That is why I write now, that each of you look inside of yourselves. We
as a Guild are Divided, but we must not look down upon what Divides us.
Each of us chose to follow our Divine, each of us is a Templar, or a
Hunter or a practitioner of our own Faith. There is no weakness in that,
but there is weakness in what we are now.
Unity is something we crave, we need, we must have, but at the same time
it is something that is so far away from us. For what is it that makes
us all unique, what makes us all a particular person, that separates us
from the masses, is also what is driving a divide between each of us.
As to the purpose of the Luminaries, we are warriors, we are soldiers,
we are the Harbingers of Faith, of Light, of Flame, of the Hunt, of
Truth, of Symmetry, of Silence, and most of all of Destruction of the
Undead. We were made because of apathy, because of those who were
passive and did not use their strength to fight. Do not get it wrong. We
by no means were made to protect. We by no means were made to sit idly
by. We by no means were made to let this filth run through our land.
Still, we do nothing, but staying inside of Enorian. Our battle, our
war, it is drawing near. Each minute that passes we come one step closer
to that final hour, our last stand. When that comes, where will we be?
What will we be?
Of those of you who stand around, will you take up arms at least? Those
who are dormant, will they come out at that moment? Will we conquer
undeath? Will we destroy their perverted sense of the word life? Will we
bring an end to the age of Midnight and usher in the Age of Dawn? Think
deeply all of you. Do you really wish to bring about that age. Are you
so devoted to this cause that you will destroy those who you once called
friend or lover? This is not something to be dreaming about, to idle
around, or to think about with little regard. For there will be a time,
when you must raise your arms against your friends. Are we ready to face
that as a whole?
We draw our strength from within, but also from our Angels, from our
Friends, from our Divine. We do not stand alone by no means, and my time
has taught me this. When it comes down to the final battle, will we be
able to fight as one? We are destined to stand on the forefront on that
day. We are destined to deliver the first and the last blow. We are
destined to be heroes of an era where our names will go down in History
as those who came before them. Our names will be written down, for all
to read about, for all to know about, for all to cherish and aspire to
be. When that times come, and we have all passed on to Lord Dhars
kingdom do you think you could have lived without regret? Are we content
with what we are now, or do we wish to be the True Warriors of the
Light, Warriors of the Flame, Warriors of Faith?
However, now is not a time when we can lash out against our enemies for
all eternity. Now is a time that we must face a new threat, which has
pressed us greater than any army of the Undead could ever. This is a
time for us to display to all the strength of our guild now, and what we
are all capable of.
Do not let it be so that the ends justify the means, or let it be so
that apathy will claim us as a guild! Know that we will find the path,
the One True Path of the Light. That each of us will be able to aide in
finding this bearings, and that our division will be what will empower
us. Many of us have spoken, and many of us bear the title of comrade of
ally of friend.
We who are the Luminary, we those most suited to fight this battle. We
who are the Luminary, are most fit to wage this war. We who are the
Luminary, will not stand by idly while they attack us on all fronts. We
who are the Luminary, shall be the ones who deliver the final blow
against this force. For it is we who bask in the light of the Divine,
none are so blessed by the Divine as us, and none follow Them with the
same passion as us. In Their name, in the name of Lord Arion the
Truthseeker, in the name of Lord Haern the Hunter, in the name of Iosyne
the Muse, in the name of Lady Leis, in the name of Lady Auresae our
Patron, and in the name of Lord Dhar the Underking, will you answer this
call?
Penned by my hand on the 20th of Severin, in the year 299 MA.
