An Aspirants Take

I have spent much time considering the ramifications of the events that
took place today. I will not bother to recount them all, but for
history's sake will relate some of what transpired and some conclusions
I have drawn.
All paladins were gathered by our grand champion Sir Hadoryu in various
places throughout the land to witness the threat posed by the blight of
Undeath. In doing, we were shown that the world abroad changes while we
remain locked in our cities keeping our own safe. The armies of the dead
amass committing new horrific atrocities, corrupting goodness, enslaving
the peoples of our land, and feeding on the innocent. It became apparent
to me that as the world changes, as the threat changes, we too much
change.
If we cannot adapt to this new environment, then we will surely succumb
to it. It cares not for valor. It cares not for nobility. It cares not
for respect. Against this foe, it is victory or death. For we face a
united and highly effective adversary against who there will be no
honorable combat.
As Sir Hadoryu spoke, there were knights that began to contest his
words. His own past actions were questioned, and he was accused of
breaking the tenants of the guild. It became clear that there was a
massive rift in our ranks. Many could not accept that our traditions
would not hold in this fight. It became increasingly heated to the point
that an aspirant voicing her opinion was assaulted by a knight. This
moment should be remembered, as it marks what I believe is a turning
point in our history.
Sir Hadoryu has called the faithful to serve. Now, let there be no
dissent among us. For there can be none if we wish to emerge from this
time. Throw off the stagnation that has made us ineffectual. Let us be
reforged as one, a light in the darkness. And let us take action.
