Corruption

I will attempt to be brief, though I understand that I may not be as
brief as I would intend.
Corruption -does- exist in many ways. It does not matter how you dress
it, there are still selfish drives that will tug upon mortals. There are
those who will commit the greatest of disservices to themselves-
remaining apathetic and ignorant of what it is that makes it so. And
there are those who will acknowledge the flaws that they possess and do
something about it.
It is said that Purity is nigh unattainable for mortals, does this make
it any less worthwhile to pursue? No, it does not. On the contrary, it
is a constant test of will, it is to set aside the pride of self and to
take the hands of others and lead them upon a path, a higher path, a
path that is greater than themselves.
This is the essence of Purity. Why should we strive for Purity if it is
not attainable? This is simple, the end goal matters but not to the same
extent that the path that leads to that goal does. A path in which you
can find enlightenment within yourself, understanding of your limits and
be able to push those limits further.
Good and evil are concepts bandied by the ignorant, they are what
mortals perceive of them and never the same to any two. It is not so in
Purity or in combating corruption, even corruption itself: they are hard
truths of mortal kind.
The truth to corruption is that one will serve the self and be wont to
their own whims and only their own. To combat corruption, or to even
follow Purity, is to acknowledge the threats of corruption but unlike
those who would stand idle to their obvious flaws to "embrace" their
corruption, to do something about the flaws one would possess.
To guide all who would seek a higher path for themselves and to offer
those who would seek redemption a path that is greater than the sum of
the self, a path in which they will find enlightenment in themselves.
Take not the easy way, for there is nothing to be gained there, instead
take the path that challenges your limits, that makes you best yourself
and others time and again.
