Hello once more my friends!
At long last, the Two-Hundred and Fiftieth year of this Midnight Age is
upon us, and with this monumental occasion comes the return of the
Midnight Age Carnival! As the Grand Maestro of the Brotherhood of
Mummers, I will serve willingly as your guide and gawker for the events
to come during the course of the year. I would remind you all to seek
out the tents and grounds of the Midnight Age Carnival off the
Prelatorian Highway, and to pay dear attention to the shifting of flaps
as the events we have in store for you unfold.
I am particularly pleased to announce to you that with this rendition of
the Midnight Age Carnival, the Mummers have attained the support of the
Divine Themselves, and so throughout the course of the year, my own
talents and those of the other Maestros will be supplemented, and of
course vastly surpassed, by Ere, the Celebrant, who will aide in the
staging of contests of skill and wit with numerous prizes to be won. In
particular, in addition to prizes of gold, credits, and a variety of
artifacts, contestants may be awarded with black iron coins. These coins
may be used at the end of the year to bid on a variety of unique items,
so be sure to hold on to them dearly should one come into your
possession!
While I will be tending to the grounds of the Carnival itself,
representatives of the Mummers guild will travel to each of Aetolia's
cities, as well as the village of Eleusis, to serve the needs of
Aetolia's citizens in regards to the coordination of contests. For the
crafting contests, for instance, soon to be announced, all entries
should be given to the Maestro Mummer within your city on a letter,
though you may also hand any entry to me for processing. The Maestros
will also provide guidance and clarification on events throughout the
course of the year, should any questions be had.
To the city of Enorian goes Maestro Wellek, with his assistant Jarl.
To the city of Ashtan goes Maestro Deikuten, with his assistant Kyalo.
To the village of Eleusis of Duiran goes Maestro Teituke, with her
assistant Asida.
To the city of Spinesreach goes Maestro Sayei, with her assistant Fara.
To the city of Bloodloch goes Maestro Eado, with his assistant Tasha.
I am certain that this Midnight Age Carnival will bring joy and
excitement to the realm during our time here, but should any misgivings
arise, merely approach me or any of the Maestros and we will address
your concerns promptly!
So to Aetolia, congratulations on two-hundred and fifty years since the
beginning of the Midnight Age, and to its citizens, good strength and
good luck!
