Those Magic Daze

Those Magic Daze
My tongue, a sword as keen as steel
Cannot fend for long the cold.
Ahh, but the weather seemed much warmer
In those fabled days of old
When faeries danced and unicorns pranced,
And adventure was bound to unfold.

My hands, so ample, lightning quick
Cannot recount the truth.
When people close their minds and hearts
Its a test for any sleuth
To find a way to recant the day
When things weren't so uncouth.

My heart, so withered despite my years
Still beats in expectance of the time
When mountain mines are dwarven manned
And ogrets play in archaic rhyme
Still I'll write recounting tales, of hobbits down in water dales
Of a much less wretched clime.

Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
Brother Nightraven, Proud Sentaari

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Midautumn, in the year 68 MA.
