She gathered grass to fill his pillow,
He cut the diamonds from the sky,
Reminding him, so desperately,
Of the fire behind her eyes.

She loved the sun that laced his laughter,
He praised the moon that stained her skin,
And they spoke in gentle whispers,
Of the child their love would bring.

He caught rain drops for her labour,
To replace each tear she cried,
He saw diamonds through her lashes,
The moment, before she died.

He gathered feathers for my cradle,
Now- He smiles, before he cries,
When he speaks about the name I grace,
And the diamonds behind my eyes.

With Love,
Skyla.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Slyphian, in the year 122 MA.
