Beneath the Layers of Me... a response to your shout

Beneath the layers of skin that hide my soul, you will find the broken
pieces of 'me' hiding from the light. I am broken by the cruelty of
these irrelevant lives, the intriguing sunset, and all these swift,
deceptive lies. I hide behind this barrier, waiting for someone to drag
me out, expose me, vanquish my fears.

Beneath the layers of flesh that seal my heart, you will find these sins
that have yet to be committed. Innocence still lingers inside this
progressively older frame, burning to be caged within. The sins oft work
themselves, fighting my tissue, hungering to be set free. The purity
that shields me from that world is what tears me down to rage, my last
defense, my chastity.

Beneath the layers of skin that restrain me from being free, invincible,
you will find the cadence of the ocean's waves flowing within my veins.
They rush in and out, relentless adrenaline. Consistent, yet always
craving that difference. Yearning for a glance into the future. Thirst
not satisfied.

Beneath the layers of skin that separate me from the camouflaged crowd,
you will find me, untouched. You will see me uncovered with lies, real.
Under my skin, I can only -be- 'me', no deceptions towards anyone that
approaches. You will stumble upon my faults, and you will peer into my
grace.

You will find me.

Do you want to, anymore? Does it matter enough to anyone, anymore? Do I?

-High Prince of Ulangi, Nighty Nightshadow Thalion

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Lleian, in the year 122 MA.
