An Ex-Shallamite

Back there,
I went,
Shutting the Door
On the Once and ever.
The Voices were
Staring
Out through the Trees.
They're Dark
and Dying now.
Time clanged its bell.
The scene came back to me.
Not of death,
But of life,
Of play.
Of lingering upset
And lost oppurtunities.
Even now I think
What can be greater?
But to closed out from that -
You once called "Home?"

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Khepary, in the year 121 MA.
