Speak

Written by: Arch Duchess Emma Cae'lestis

Speak to me, tell me the words, o my muse
O my soul for a price I will pay you
To swallow me whole, break this truce
with my heart, let it die, like I have, too
Rip away the inadequate white sheet
it leaves me cold, in the darkness I dream
Slipping on broken glass in my bare feet
The shades in this world aren't what they first seem
Grey covers my world now that I have lost
Making me smile, the first true smile in years
You know what kind I mean, the kind that cost
Can I leave behind you who conquers my fears?
I suppose I'm sinking now, though I breathe
Lost all that I once was, had, underneath

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Ios, in the year 117 MA.
