Poetry News Post #696

Especially to Nevernaught, Secora, Kerian, Macavity, Ashus, and Serestra

I write to you this lonely day
From a room in Azdun deep
Where my demons came to play
And the goblins heard me weep

Niuri knows the silent paths
My mind alone has tread
Niuri knows the ways I chose
That would have seen me dead

But in my darkest hour, lo
I learned that this was so
Despite the ways I hate myself
You would not let me go.

Macavity, my sire kind
Made me stay and hear
All the ways my friends loved me
Despite my lonely fears

Serestra my youngest one
stood steadfast by my side
While Ashus her fiance
Swallowed his pride and died

Kerian, what can I say?
You've done it once again
When I thought I hated you
You were still my friend

Secora words cannot express
All the things you've done for me
From the beginnings of my travels
To when I was lost upon the sea

A sea of my own making
A sea I could not swim
A sea that was my prison
And kept my heart from him

Nevernaught, What can I do?
Once again you've proven true.
You held me while I wept tonight
You dried my tears and made it right

You kept me from my own fault
Fought my battles, one and all
You love me despite my crimes
And yet I've hurt you many times

Niuri knows the silent paths
Secora found me on
Niuri knows the ways he chose
To love me on and on

I write to you this lonely day
From a room in Azdun deep
Where my demons came to play
And my friends have made them weep

With love to my friends, and my daughter, and my beloved husband
XOXOXO
Auvira
