Elegant Dirty

For the Orchid

Dirtied in my elegance
I wither
Starving for a moment
To tell you what this means
If there is a moment left at all.

Drained by this opulence
Will I see your buried smile
Beneath the moonbright shade of anger
That made up your ways, days I couldn't find
Hidden beneath so much pain
And this never seems to end.

And I hope you know...

I'd take my time,
And find you where you are
Where I left you crying

And I'd shed this skin
And I'd walk these lines
To see your face again
And hear your voice in mine
(but I don't know where you are)
And I'd shed my skin
Show you who I am inside
But now you're too far gone,
And you're so damn beautiful,
And I,
I am elegantly dirty.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Ios, in the year 116 MA.
