If you could see what I see

Written by: Daughter of Fortune, Melicent Kemestar - O'Lyryus

The night is bitter and twisted
Cold and so full of lies
All alone in the darkness
One young girl cries

To feel you spiralling into shadows
Slipping through the fingers like ash
Wakefulness, sleep evading too well
As she wonders if her words were too rash

All she sees is a rose-coloured garden
Full of sunshine, flowers and giggles
Twirling in a headspinning joy
But away from her reality wriggles

He cannot see her world or him through her eyes
All he sees is black and different shades of grey
Despite all he tries and all she tries
Of his own dark thoughts he is the prey

How to rescue from that which you don't understand
How to escape to some place you never dreamed
She would be there, whenever if she could
But it would not be all it seemed

I understand, in the limited way I can,
And should the world seem lonely and cold
I will be your friend, be there til the end
I give my word, and as a token, my heart, so hold!

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Chakros, in the year 108 MA.
