Why is it?

Why is it you can make me speak
On those thoughts I'd rather hide
Why is it that when I don't want to get back up
You're there by my side making me get to my feet
Why is it that those elements about me
That I would seek to bury deep
You can draw from me with but a few words
And a look filled with love and understanding

Why is it I cannot resist
When you ask me to tell the truth
I cannot avoid the honesty and affection
That compells all that I'm thinking
To tumble forth from my lips
In rivulets of utter sincerity
Compelling this from me
Leading by example
Conquering my heart with good grace
As I surrender simultaneously

Why is it that I know
That I can never live another day without you
Why is it that I fear more than anythign else
A day you might decide or be forced to leave me
A day when my heart would be cloven in two
And stop beating, screaming silently
From the agony of losing you
Why is it I know that for us
That that particular day can never come

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Midautumn, in the year 107 MA.
