Is it not ironic
how the noble scoff at evil
pointing at the fangs
mocking the claws
scornfull of the beast
bearing the marks of evil?

With righteousness as a shield
triumphantly they march towards doom
being nobly called to defeat the beast
in its efluent lethargy
unconcerned it seems
by the evil being worked through them

As mighty heroes we welcome them
those who have toiled and served
those who have died and suffered
only to return
with the Mark of the Beast
tattoed upon their foreheads.
