Nighty's Lament

Nighty's Lament

The comforting shadow is leaving the lands,
Protective blanket,
Laughter to be silenced.
Burning slowly as our skin awakens to the brightness
Our beloved night shadows gone
Heavy tears are instantly vaporized,
Gone so much more quickly than the pain beneath our skins
Mischief and revelry fallen by the wayside,
Playful hearts dripping wet with loss.
The sun burns brighter against our aching souls
Ghosts of each memory drifting inside my eyes
Quiet island, as nature silences in revie of their departed prince
And the rain falls from a vaporless azure,
Nature's sorrow following her children's
Droplets yearning toward blisters, dreaming of being aloe to the hearts
Rain, hiding the weary saddened eyes
Closing in resign, and laying upon the dry earth, the water seeping
through heavy cracks
Nighty night to Ulangi's prince.
