Midnight is Dawn

A candle in the dark window, the void that is my soul
You are my shining darkness, the only splinter of truth
I cannot help but wonder how without you I'd be whole
With healing smiles and words of reason, my deep cut wrists you soothe.
I'm fighting for the air above
and all I see is you,
my love.
There isn't anything to do
but fight for air or sink below
the murky depths that are my world
How can anyone but you ever know
This life I lead, so churled?
The truth is this, so let it be
I am you, and you are me

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Ios, in the year 101 MA.
