I can feel my blood
Coursing through my veins
Hearing the flood
My heart beats loud in my ears.
This changelings eyes are open
Am I still alive?
All these years spent wanting
To taste the crimson
All my future lines cross
Covered in shadowy mists
My life slowly covered in moss
I'm not going anywhere.
Restrained feelings I cannot explain
My greatest love kept secret
Fake smiles-hidden pain
Sheltered in the darkness
Such a prize I cannot claim
It is not for me to take
To huddle in this secret shame
Just to taste true life.
It is the gift of the blood
Though my heart beats undecided
To be carried away in the flood...
Or hide forever in the sun?

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Midsummer, in the year 96 MA.
