It was, it could have been beautiful...

I can compare it to a summer's day,
All warm and fair until the rain.
I can compare it to a great love story,
But it's not the same.

I can compare you to an opening flower
So beautiful and secret, but closed tonight.
I can compare you to a sunset bright,
An awe inspiring but fleeting sight.

I can compare my joy to only one thing,
A new life, a new beginning.
I can only compare it to that feeling
When at last you are winning.

I would have liked to have loved you
And shown you what I see
And love the fact you were near
And only with me

I can still love to have you
Near as my friend
Just so you know,
I'll be here til the end.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Ios, in the year 93 MA.
