I once wrote you a poem
Straight from my heart
I knew that you loved me
And that we'd never part

But it seems I'm misguided
We did go our ways
But I swore that I'd love you
To the end of my days

I am with another
Who I love and adore
And although at the moment
My eyes are all sore

Although he seems not to see
And I suspect he doesn't care
There's no reason to leave him
Like a big, 'Screw you, so there!'

I did love you once
And of course I still do
But you must know one thing
I can't come back to you
