Spark

There is a difference between a spark of originality
And a simple smattering of words on paper
The sights and sounds of what once was make my hand waver
Is my mind the only one that grows weary of predictability

It does not take an expensive pen or a bold love to make art
Sometimes tragedy gives way to the melodramatic
This does not mean to reason that all has to be cathartic
Some things lie in the past, from which one can never part

Once upon a time, the sun rose above a new world
But it soon moved way in favour of the ancient
And stability reigns over all that is old

I left this world then in favour of somewhere else
A place in which they could accept me as patient
If this is your life now, perhaps it is time to judge it false.

Sara De'Nas

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Severin, in the year 89 MA.
