Why

Why can't things be different
More like the way they used to be
When I was happy, smiling and content
Instead of always feeling hurt and resent

I remember times when we were one
Spending all day long laughing in the sun
Then curling up to watch the sun set
It was the best feeling one could get

At night we would sit and watch the star
Never thinking one day we would be so far
It never crossed a single thought
That one day our love would be naught

But underneath I think it's still there
Otherwise I don't think I would care
How much time we spend apart
And how much I miss our happy start

Oh why couldn't your love just remain with me
Then maybe happy I could be
I wish I could experience one more kiss
It would be heaven and it would be bliss
